On the road to Orlando.

We had intended to get on the road by 3. Of course it was more like 5 PM by the time we got everything loaded up. Our thought was it would be easier to drive and make good time while the kids were sleeping. It did work to our advantage the first day...though I have to admit I was the one about an hour in asking if we were there yet.

We had rented a van to make the drive. The nice thing was there was a built in dvd player in the back. The kids actually stayed fairly entertained with snacks and a movie. Didn't take long and they both had passed out. This was by far the quietest and best leg of the trip.

We ended up stopping in Albuquerque overnight (not a very great roadside motel with 2 kids...blast). It delayed us getting to David's parents house in Dallas. We were never so happy to have a shower and get out of the car. Melia was pretty miserable driving. Hated being confined to her seat. She was tough to keep entertained. And feeding her in the car...she was SO messy!!

While we were in Dallas, we celebrated Cameron's birthday with a trip to Chucky Cheese. Melia had a great time running around all over that place. Even was excited to see Chucky. Also got to have some cake!

Then it was the first time she got to meet Uncle Adam...so we had to update all the family photos.

She was saying "cheese".

We were in Dallas for a few days...then got back on the road. We stopped one more time...just a few hours from Orlando. Those were the worst days! Almost the entire time Melia was awake she was crying or mad. We were so glad to finally get here!
