Random May - So Much Happening!

At the end of the month, we put up Melia's big girl bed. We left her crib up...mostly because she didn't seem interested in sleeping in the bed, just playing. Cameron loved sitting there to read her bedtime stories though. Muffin Man is one of her favorites. As are some Elmo books.



We went golfing at Winter Summerland. It's one of Disney's mini golf courses. This one is all Santa themed. One course is in the winter. The other in the summer. This time we did the summer version and took some funny pictures along the way. It was so hot out!




Melia likes to say "Listen Mommy". I decided to play a game like I was sleeping.




Melia mimics everything Cameron does! I mean EVERYTHING! Follows him, says the same things, same mannerisms. They have fun making funny faces together.

Of course you know we had Disney time! Well a trip to Magic Kingdom and also Hollywood Studios. It was a Toy Story kind of night. Dinner at Pizza Planet, 3 times on the Toy Story ride, and we got to see Buzz & Woody! Melia wouldn't let go of Woody so Cameron just stayed in place (mostly due to bribery for Wii).



Funny Story - We took the kids to Typhoon Lagoon. It's one of the Disney water parks. They have a huge wave pool. Part of the time, it's like a pool. Then half the time, they launch the most massive waves ever. It makes a loud sound as it launches. We thought...let's take the kids out and swim a little bit then when the big waves start we'll come back in closer. When they made the announcement I  kept saying to David "do you think we're still too far out?". He kept saying surely by this point they've died down. Well, he was wrong. Seconds after the first wave launched I knew it was bad. I started backing up with Melia as fast as I could. As the wave hit us, I jumped as high as I could and pushed Melia up as high as I could. David didn't have the same sense with Cameron. Regardless, the wave crashed over all of us. I swear the kids thought we were trying to drown them. We had about 30 seconds to get in before the next one launched. As soon as Cameron heard it, he took off like a bat out of hell...never saw him run so fast. He was not impressed. It was so funny...after the fact.

Melia loves her Mexican food. On a trip to Chuy's, she was eating the salsa with a spoon!

Melia has been learning her letters!

Melia knows all of her letter sounds, thanks to her Letter Factory video. She also knows almost all of her letters by sight. Certainly ahead of where Cameron was from learning the letter sounds. They love singing the song. We love hearing her say what sound "H" makes.

Visitors from PA - Grandma Beth, Aunt Lynn, Olivia & Ava

Grandma Beth, Aunt Lynn, Olivia, and Ava came to visit us. The first day they got in, we decided to jump in the car and head down to Downtown Disney for some dinner and fun. It was raining (of course). We planned to go to Cameron's favorite restaurant there - T-Rex. Melia gets really freaked out by the dinosaurs when they make noise. Everyone got a kick out of her putting her hands to her cheeks. We tried for a video of it...it's a little dark. She wouldn't hold still for the group pictures because she was too concerned about the dinosaur starting to move again. The kids had a great time playing at the Lego store too.



We kept trying for a good picture of us in Mickey ears.



We made the next day out our Magic Kingdom day! The girls had never been there before. We got there in the morning and stayed for fireworks and the electrical parade. Our day started off with Mickey pictures. Of course, Cameron wasn't interested at all so it was just the girls. Melia was hilarious in the video...she gets so excited! Then we spent the rest of the day riding rides and visiting a few characters. Of course it rained...so we had to have a picture of us in our ponchos. Olivia & Melia loved the electrical parade. They sat on the curb together waving at all of the floats. Ava & Cameron crashed.



Melia's favorite was meeting Ariel!!



One night we went for dinner at Chuy's. Melia wasn't being a nice girl...so this is how we entertained her.



The rest of the time everyone here we stayed close to home and let them play. We did go down to the farmer's market one day for a little shopping and splash park fun. The kids swam in the pool. Melia also learned a new phrase..."I can't". It's a nonstop part of her vocabulary!



Then we ended their long weekend with letting Melia open a really early birthday present...a sandbox.
